Separation Vessel
This example shows a gas and liquid entering a separation vessel.
The vessel is subject to a cyclic axial rotation such as onboard a FPSO facility.
Applications
CFD models can test the effectiveness of different designs such as the addition of internal cyclones,
inlet devices and vortex breakers.
These simulations can be used to test a range of operating conditions to ensure designs will stand-up to all conceivable scenarios.
The transient behaviour of the fluids can be investigated and can highlight restrictions associated with trapped gases within liquid system or to determine the effectiveness of baffles to prevent sloshing within a vessel.
